Friends of Fatima
Inspired by long-time EC Week volunteer Jim Dawley, the number one goal of the Friends of Fatima Committee is to fund any deficit that EC Week has from year to year. Secondarily, it is to fund projects that benefit EC Week, and whenever possible, regular season. Over the years, the Friends of Fatima Committee has been involved in the following major projects:
- Funded upgrades to the Staff Application online program
- 50% funding of a new pontoon boat designed to accommodate wheelchairs (remaining funding comes from Regular Season)
- Percentage funding for drainage & landscaping in front of Cabins 1-12
- Sponsorship of 50/50 Raffles
- Purchase a new meat slicer for the kitchen
- Funding for additional Sensory Zone items
- Funding for replacement Personal Flotation Devices (PFD) for Waterfront
- Funding replacement of the stage “flats” for Special Program
- 50% funding of a new freezer for the kitchen
- 50% funding of a new pontoon boat
- Two new shower houses (100% funding and sweat equity)
- Expansion of bathrooms (7) in cabins to be handicapped accessible
- Ramps (8) on several cabins for wheelchair access (100% funding and sweat equity)
- Partial funding of upgrades to the PA system
- Partial funding for new portable radios
- 100% funding of convection ovens, fry-o-lators and grills for kitchen
- 100% funding of electronic staff application process and website
- Handicap accessible bathrooms outside main office (100% funding and sweat equity)
- Infirmary expansion (100% funding and sweat equity)
- 50% funding of one walk-in cooler for kitchen
- Sensory Zone as a new camp activity
- Generator for dining hall (percentage funding)
- New dishwasher for dining hall (percentage funding)
