Exceptional Citizens' (E.C.) Week is a co-ed weeklong camp for children and adults ages 9+ (campers) with intellectual and/or
physical challenges including Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Angelman Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
This special week is held every August at Camp Fatima on Suncook Lake in Gilmanton Iron Works, New Hampshire and is provided at
no cost to campers families and caregivers.
Camp is for the Campers. With that motto in mind, E.C. Week's volunteer Head Staff works year round preparing
for the campers' arrival - arranging activities and entertainment, procuring food and supplies, and organizing and
training its staff of volunteers. This is all done to ensure each camper has a safe, fun and unforgettable week.
E.C. Week volunteers are committed to providing our exceptional campers with one of the most memorable weeks of
their lives. On the surface, there is no 'typical' E.C. Week volunteer. We are all ages and from all backgrounds. We
are nurses, lawyers, teachers, police officers, students, professionals and tradespersons. The bond that brings us
together each year is the joy we see in the eyes and hear in the laughter of our exceptional campers. While volunteering takes
sacrifice and service, it is the volunteer counselors and staff that are thankful for the life-changing experiences
that the campers give to us.
Without the generosity of individuals and corporate citizens, E.C. Week would simply not be possible.
All contributions to E.C. Week are tax-deductible.
